Two brothers, Matthias and Andreas Engel, who fought on opposite sides in the Civil War, must set aside their differences to rescue their 13-year-old sister, Minnie, captured by a Comanche war party. While traveling with a wagon train from St. Louis to Texas, she and her widowed father are attacked by Comanches—everyone is killed except Minnie. Learning of the tragedy, Matthias advertises in Missouri newspapers for men to join his rescue. Andreas reads it in the St. Joseph paper, and his friends, Frank and Jesse James, volunteer to go with him to Sedalia, where the posse is forming. Wild Bill Hickok, Buffalo Bill Cody, and Bass Reeves also join the mission to save a girl from the West’s deadliest tribe.
