Brief First Encounter
A truly unique reading experience. A fictional account of contact by Cronin society located 35 light years away from Earth. After observing for 13 years via a probe located on the moon, the Cronin society, faces an existential crisis, which prompts them to contact Earth, Cronin is more than 3000 years ahead of Earth in scientific discovery, and has much that they can share, but is Earth ready to receive the gift.

Taking an out-of-the-box approach, the plot does not take place way in the future and then some place way out in the universe. A typical science fiction plot involves some major threat to the human species from some hostile society. A truly advanced society would most likely not need anything from Earth and if it made contact with Earth, it would do it in a way that would overcome the difficulties of communicating over large distances and using technologies already available on earth, such as e-mail. Furthermore, the society would try to learn as much as they could about life on Earth before making contact, possibly using a probe that would allow them to observe undetected for some period of time.

Brief First Encounter is a science fiction novel that speculates how a realistic contact would be made with Earth and then goes on to analyze the social and economic impact of such an alien contact.
